Getting Started
Get Hermetiq running on your Mac in just a few minutes. This guide covers downloading, installing, and creating your first clinical note.
System Requirements
Download & Install
Download Hermetiq
Download the latest version of Hermetiq from our website. The download is a standard macOS .dmg file.
Download HermetiqInstall the app
Open the .dmg file and drag Hermetiq to your Applications folder.
Double-click to launch. macOS may ask you to confirm since the app was downloaded from the internet.
Download AI models
On first launch, Hermetiq will download the AI models needed for transcription and note generation. This is a one-time download of approximately 10 GB.
The download happens in the background. You can start using Hermetiq once it completes.
Offline after setup
Your First Session
Add a client
Click the + button in the sidebar to create a new client. Enter their name and any notes you want to keep.
Client data is stored locally on your Mac and never leaves your device.
Create a session
With a client selected, click New Session. You can either upload a recording or paste notes directly.
- Upload audio: Voice Memos, Zoom recordings, dictaphone files. Any audio format works
- Paste notes: If you have rough session notes, paste them directly
Generate your note
Choose your output format (SOAP, DAP, BIRP, Progress Note, etc.) and click Generate.
Hermetiq will transcribe the audio (if provided) and generate a structured clinical note. The entire process runs locally on your Mac.
Review and export
Review the generated note. You can edit any section before exporting.
- Copy to clipboard: Paste directly into your EHR
- Export as PDF: Save a formatted document
Always review
Permissions
Microphone (optional)
If you want to record sessions directly in Hermetiq, you'll need to grant microphone access. This is optional; you can also import audio files recorded elsewhere.
File Access
Hermetiq needs permission to access files you select for import (audio recordings). It only accesses files you explicitly choose.
